Materials
Full-grain and box calf from two tanneries we have worked with since the first sample round. Vegetable-tanned hides for the woven and sandal styles.
Full-grain keeps the outermost surface of the hide, marks included. It is stronger than corrected grain and it develops a patina rather than cracking. Roughly one hide in six is clean enough across its full length for a whole-cut.
